Let your fingers guide you!
If you’ve spent any time with me, you know how much I value the telephone.
There’s a reason for that.
It made me a wealthy man. And it can do the same for you.
How so?
When it comes to human beings, we can’t form true relationships with a direct message.
We’re not wired that way and it won’t change any time soon.
Whatever communication you prefer, it will never beat the telephone for building a strong relationship.
You might make a surface relationship.
It will never get you to the next level.
Text won’t get it done. Neither will an email.
Do you like to be heard? Sure you do. We all do.
You can’t have that experience with words alone. We need the tonality in the voice.
When we truly “hear” people, we get a sense of them.
We know where to guide a conversation to.
We know how to react and don’t overthink things.
In a JV relationship, this is critical.
So how can you make it easier on yourself?
Follow this simple approach: Make it about them!
Ask a lot of questions. Be interested in them.
What can you learn about them? What do they care about?
Talk to them. Listen to them. Spend time with them.
The more interested you are, the more interesting you will become.
The more interesting you become, the more they will want to hang out with you and do joint ventures with you.
And that’s really good for business.
